  1. Q. How much does working with you cost me?
    A. There is no cost to you from LandaJob. Our clients hire us and pay us to find matches for their needs in permanent and temporary positions. In very rare instances, an employer will ask you to be liable for a portion of the fee, should you leave prior to one year. If that's the case, you'll know in advance of accepting the offer. Your salary offer is not affected because our client has planned in advance for both your salary level and our fee.

  2. Q. Do you only handle jobs that employers can't fill by any other means?
    A. No. In fact, in many instances our clients will contact us before advertising for the position.

  3. Q. How do I get an appointment with you?
    A. Typically, we set up an appointment with you when you match a current job search or if we anticipate one coming to us soon. Your first action is to send us your resume. See Apply Now.

  4. Q. Should I send you different resumes for different kinds of jobs?
    A. Send a general resume in the beginning and note in the cover letter that different versions exist. You may be asked later to revise or re-focus your resume.

  5. Q. Should I send my portfolio with my resume?
    A. If you are scheduled for an interview, always bring your portfolio. Otherwise, you can submit 3 to 4 non-returnable samples of your best work with your resume.

  6. Q. What happens in the process after I send my resume to you?
    A. You will receive a postcard or e-mail confirming that we have received your resume. Your resume information will be input into our database, and then circulated to recruiters who specialize in your skill set. They will determine whether to contact you (by phone) based on the searches they are currently conducting for clients and those they expect, based on the marketplace, to be conducting in the near future. At that point, you may be called in for a face-to-face interview.

Whether or not there is a match with one of our current searches, your resume remains in our database for two years. Please send us an updated resume if you change jobs or expand your skill set.

  7. Q. So we've met, what happens now?
    A. If we have potential matches for you immediately, we'll tell you about them in detail and find out if they meet your objectives. Then we'll submit your resume along with a management summary to our client. We'll work with you at every step of the process to prepare you for interviews, explore issues, check references and even help negotiate the offer. If there is no immediate match, we want you to keep in touch so that if something does come up, we'll be able to reach you. We view our relationships as long-term, and we hope that we are in touch even after you've found a job, either through us or on your own.

  8. Q. Will LandaJob notify me before submitting my resume to a client?
    A. Our clients often benefit from our specialized expertise, as we may understand advertising and marketing positions in more depth than internal HR staff. We work hand in hand with them to find the best person for you.

  9. Q. I sent a resume to you before and never got called. What's up?
    A. ItYes. We have our fingers on the pulse of what's going on salary-wise in the market, both from the candidate and employer perspective.

  10. Q. Can you help me locate candidates outside this market?
    A. Your resume may need a facelift to make it more targeted, or you may be including too much information. Remember, the resume’s goal is to land a meeting, not tell your life story. We are happy to review your resume via phone. Perhaps the market's needs are not where your skills lie right now, so you might need to adjust your immediate expectations. You may also need to spot-check your references. There may be an unfavorable one lurking out there. We suggest you consider temporary assignments to keep your skills sharp and get introduced into new working environments.

  11. Q. I've received no results from other recruiters. Can you be successful for me?
    A. We'll spend some time with you to see if we can determine why your previous searches have yielded no results. It may be that we can help fine-tune the skill sets or experience that could work in that position.
    top

  12. Q. How do I know you're not going to show me the same people I've already seen?
    A. The purpose of hiring us is to help identify unduplicated candidates. We'll spend time with you up-front to talk about the candidates you've already evaluated. In addition, we do a thorough job of finding out from our candidates where they've already applied or interviewed. When we submit someone to you, to the best of our knowledge, they are not in your system.

  13. Q. Should I work with more than one recruiter at a time?
    A. You certainly can if you have the time to devote to managing the process. The more recruiters you choose, the more management time you'll expend.

  14. Q. What's your screening process? How do you decide when to send a resume to me?
    A. Our screening process may be more thorough than you're accustomed to. We are evaluating not only the specific skill sets and experience you need, but also the character, background, and personality traits we uncover during the interview process. Because our recruiters have worked within the job categories that we fill, accurately assessing who will fit your job requirements is one of our key strengths. And when we send you a resume, it's accompanied by a management summary that explains our recommendation.
