It’s 1985 one last time
As we draw near to our 30th anniversary celebration, we take one last look back at 1985:
What we were watching — The top television shows of 1985 included, The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Murder She Wrote, the venerable 60 Minutes, and Cheers. And, the big box office hits included, Back To The Future, Rambo II, Rocky IV, The Color Purple, Out of Africa, and Cocoon.
The Big Finds — More than 73 years after it tragically sank, the RMS Titanic was located by a joint French and American team at a depth of over 12,000 feet, approximately 370 miles SSE of Newfoundland. And, in South Africa, the world’s largest diamond (755.5 carats, cut down to a mere 545.67 carats) was found.
Quotables — Bartles & Jaymes, “Thank you for your support.” Billy Crystal’s Fernando Lamas telling all, “You look mahhh-va-lous.”
