How much does it cost to work with you?
There is no cost to you from LandaJob. Our clients hire us and pay us to find matches for their needs in contract, contract-to-hire and direct hire positions. In very rare instances, an employer will ask you to be liable for a portion of the fee, should you leave prior to one year. If that’s the case, you’ll know in advance of accepting the offer. Your salary offer is not affected because our client has planned in advance for both your salary level and our fee.
Should I send my portfolio with my resume?
If you are scheduled for an interview, always bring your portfolio. Otherwise, you can e-mail samples of your best work with your resume.
What happens in the process after I send my resume to you?
You will receive an e-mail confirming that we have received your resume. Your resume information will be input into our database, and then circulated to recruiters who specialize in your skill set. They will determine whether to contact you (by phone) based on the searches they are currently conducting for clients and those they expect, based on the marketplace, to be conducting in the near future. At that point, you may be called in for a face-to-face interview. Whether or not there is a match with one of our current searches, your resume remains in our database for two years. Please send us an updated resume if you change jobs or expand your skill set.
So we've met, what happens now?
If we have potential matches for you immediately, we’ll tell you about them in detail and find out if they meet your objectives. Then we’ll submit your resume along with a management summary to our client. We’ll work with you at every step of the process to prepare you for interviews, explore issues, check references and even help negotiate the offer. If there is no immediate match, we want you to keep in touch so that if something does come up, we’ll be able to reach you. We view our relationships as long-term, and we hope that we are in touch even after you’ve found a job, either through us or on your own.
Will LandaJob notify me before submitting my resume to a client?
Yes, you’ll be advised of the job opportunity and you’ll ok the resume submission.

How does your fee structure work? Do I sign a contract?
You will sign a letter of agreement with the terms of our mutual working arrangement. Our recruiting fee is expressed as a percentage of the new hire’s first year’s annual salary. On a contingency search (we are paid if we’re successful), our standard fee is 25%. A retainer search, with terms agreed to in advance, is available when you want our entire focus on your position.
What do you need to know about the position I'm trying to fill?

How quickly can you find candidates for me? If I ask you for resumes in two days, can you make that happen?
We will make every effort to meet your requests. In general, the more time we have, the better job we’ll do.
Where do you find your candidates?
Because we’ve been in business for 25+ years, our existing network is deep and wide. We maintain a database of over 2,500 candidates. In addition, we’re always finding new candidates through referrals, trade associations and local colleges and universities.
How much of the interviewing and hiring process do you handle for me?
As much as you would like. We’ll prepare candidates for their interviews and we’ll handle scheduling. As things get serious, we will conduct reference and background checks, and help you prepare to make the candidate an offer that has the highest likelihood of being accepted.
What is your policy regarding recruitment of people from current clients?
On this issue we are much different from most other firms. We don’t recruit from our current clients (those who have made a hire through us within the last 12 months). We may, however, receive unsolicited inquiries or resumes from within client firms.
What happens if I hire someone and it doesn't work out?
Our guarantee is 90 days from date of hire, contingent upon on-time payment in full. If we’re notified that the hire is not satisfactory during the guarantee period, we will replace the person.
I'm not sure our salary structure is appropriate for this job. Can you help?
Yes. We have our fingers on the pulse of what’s going on salary-wise in the market, both from the candidate and employer perspective.
Can you help me locate candidates outside this market?
Yes. Although we specialize in the Kansas City market, we have the ability to reach out into surrounding markets, as well as specific areas of expertise.
What's your screening process? How do you decide when to send a resume to me?
Our screening process may be more thorough than you’re accustomed to. We are evaluating not only the specific skill sets and experience you need, but also the character, background, and personality traits we uncover during the interview process. Because our recruiters have worked within the job categories that we fill, accurately assessing who will fit your job requirements is one of our key strengths. And when we send you a resume, it’s accompanied by a management summary that explains our recommendation.
